Nutrition Workshop for Children with Disabilities

Hello Friends, in the beginning of our ministry is was extremely hard to trace children with disabilities in our village as most of them were hidden (at some point we thought they did not exist)... but gradually with awareness efforts and building trust, most parents who have children with disabilities felt cared for and some of them eventually started bringing children to our clinic. Unfortunately we realized one common issue with most of the children..... they were severely malnourished which in most cases had led to development of other health complications. From our analysis we realized that the problem was as a result of lack of knowledge among some of the parents while the other factor was lost hope as most parents had under values their children.
This is what led to calling for a nutrition workshop meant to encourge parents and to collaboratively learn together on nutritious food available locally that could enhance good health for their children. The workshop was well attended and parents were able to learn together!

PS: The video above was taken during the workshop... parents were singing a swahili song literally praising flowers for their beauty.....while at the same time reffering to their children as beautiful flowers.

Thank you very much for your prayers and support, this has sailed us through the year! Merry Christmas and fabulous 2016. God bless!

Great job buddy. Having trained in the health care of the disabled n worked with quite a large number of them, I realised much still needs to be done, especially awareness creation that would enlighten the society on disability issues. I'm really glad ur among the few who r making efforts in creating clear road for the disabled to be embraced in our society
